What Is a Staffy Mixed Breed?
A Staffy mixed breed is when a Staffordshire Bull Terrier or American Staffordshire Terrier (a type of Staffy) has been bred with a different dog breed, such as a German Shepherd, Labrador, or Jack Russell.
This means that the dog will be half Staffy/AmStaff and half of the other dog breed.
What Can a Staffy Be Crossed With?
A Staffy can be crossed with many different dog breeds, of all shapes and sizes.
Some of the larger breeds that Staffordshire Bull Terriers are crossed with are:
- Labrador
- German Shepherd
- Border Collie
Some of the smaller breeds include:
- Chihuahua
- French Bulldog
- Dachsund
Of course, some Staffy crossbreeds are more popular than others, the Bullmastiff and American Bulldog being the most popular. The Poodle and Kelpie are lesser-known.
What Is the Best Staffy Cross?
There’s no “best” Staffy cross, it all depends on what you’re looking for in a mixed breed dog. Some Staffy crosses are larger than others, more energetic, and live longer, so there are a lot of variables when it comes to Staffy crosses.
